Ricoh GR3 and GR3x Best Settings for Street Photography

Knowing your camera is essentials in order to make the best out of your photography. Ricoh GR3 and GR3x are excellent cameras for street photography. I have been using my Ricoh GR3x Urban Edition as my main camera for street photographs for about two years now. It is by far my best camera for street photography I have ever had.

These settings are the ones that I have found to be most useful for my way of photographing. I have also included some basic settings that applies to general photography. I have the settings in the same order as the menu is. There are also explanations why I have used that particular settings. I have also explained the settings in this video.

These settings are based on firmware version 2.10. for GR3 and firmware version 1.60. for GR3x. These newest firmware were released on October 23rd, 2025. The support for GF-2 Flash was added. Be sure to update the firmware for your camera to get access to all the latest features. This guide can also be used with the new Ricoh GRIV.The menu items might be a bit diffenrent, but the logic is the same.
